Measuring Loneliness cont.
“To have the opportunity to stand tall overlooking the precipice of life, you suddenly forget the aches in your bones and the stopping and starting of your heart. You become a part of the mountain range and the only damn thing you can hear is the silence in the air. The quiet surroundings grew like a lump in my throat and I yearned to hear your voice. I wanted your voice to shatter the silence that was engulfing me, just so I could hear you say, I want you too. But the wind whispered back in my ear instead, you didn’t create room for anyone else. The silence reminded me of everyone that has ever come and gone. And that too is loneliness.”
