Love and Longing
“He said the constellations can fit inside my brown eyes
but the slender half moon in my back
was the end of it all.
He said my beauty was intangible
my small eager hands can manage to grasp the greatness of this world.
And the contradictions that exist
between my fingertips
leave him in despair and bewilderment.
I turn my nose when I laugh at him and
I fall in love with my own wickedness.
His eyes are drawn to the taut exposure of my neckline
and he supersedes delirium and finds delight in my torments.”
